Paragraph Styles no longer being applied

Recommended Posts

Since the Publisher 2.1.1 update, my paragraph styles are no longer working properly.  When I select a paragraph style, for example 'Magazine Body', the style name is displayed as 'Magazine Body+' and whatever text styles (font, size, decoration, etc) were previously being used remain set.

I have tried updating the paragraph style with the correct settings but it makes no difference.

Is this a bug or has something changed and I am not using it correctly?  I am on Windows.

Thanks

Ian

Hi Ian. It depends on the style definition. For example, if the paragraph style Body is based on the Base style which is defined as Arial Regular, then applying it to bold or italic text will remove the bold and italic attributes. On the other hand, if you changed Body to not be based on Base and defined it as Times but don't choose Regular from font traits then applying it to that same bold or italic text will not remove the bold and italic attributes.

So take a close look at your style definitions and see if applying them should remove the character attributes.

Regardless of how it's defined, you can also choose to apply a paragraph style and preserve character attributes but that's another story.

Good luck.

[Another story] … which could be continued on this page:

I apologise for any approximations in my English. It is not my mother tongue.
