J.C. Posted August 4, 2023 Posted August 4, 2023 I used to be able to press a modifier key which would let me drag a node, but the node's control handles would stay in place. As a result you could quickly pull out a node into a point and stuff like that. I cannot for the life of me reproduce this now. I thought it was an alt- or ctrl- modifier but no luck. Does anyone recognize what I'm talking about and know how to do this? Edit: Of course as soon as I posted this I figured it out. You have to left-click and hold on the node, then hold down the right-click button and drag. Quote
walt.farrell Posted August 4, 2023 Posted August 4, 2023 The Status Bar will provide hints like that. For example, with the Node Tool selected, and the cursor over a Node, you should see this: Or it's documented in the Help, e.g.: https://affinity.help/designer2/en-US.lproj/pages/CurvesShapes/edit_linesAndShapes.html Quote -- Walt Designer, Photo, and Publisher V1 and V2 at latest retail and beta releases PC: Desktop: Windows 11 Pro 23H2, 64GB memory, AMD Ryzen 9 5900 12-Core @ 3.00 GHz, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 Laptop: Windows 11 Pro 23H2, 32GB memory, Intel Core i7-10750H @ 2.60GHz, Intel UHD Graphics Comet Lake GT2 and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Laptop GPU. J.C. Posted August 4, 2023 Author Posted August 4, 2023 I see that now, and that's probably how I figured it out the first time. I'm gonna chalk it up to sleep deprivation! I was not looking at the bottom of my screen. 😅 But hey, how are you viewing that help file? The font in yours is so clean and readable but for some reason my help files have a crazy illegible font, whether I view it in the program or in browser. Like this: Quote

J.C. Posted August 4, 2023 Author Posted August 4, 2023 Alright, I'll try that. I suspect Windows may be involved somehow. Thanks for all your help walt! Quote
