Baniola Posted August 2, 2023 Posted August 2, 2023 I cannot export work to PDF. Generating a preview take forever, and if I skip waiting and choose export, got a message that the file cannot be created. See attachment.
Hangman Posted August 2, 2023 Posted August 2, 2023 Hi @Baniola, Can you provide a little more information about the file you're trying to export, file dimensions, Publisher file size, the number of pages you're trying to export to your pdf file and so on... Affinity Designer 2.6.3 | Affinity Photo 2.6.3 | Affinity Publisher 2.6.3 MacBook Pro M3 Max, 36 GB Unified Memory, macOS Sonoma 14.6.1, Magic Mouse HP ENVY x360, 8 GB RAM, AMD Ryzen 5 2500U, Windows 10 Home, Logitech Mouse
Baniola Posted August 2, 2023 Author Posted August 2, 2023 (edited) Filesize on disk is 3.1MB (Publisher format) Page format is A5 number of pages is 111. I tried export spread, separate pages, and several PDF formats with the same outcome. The file so far doesn't contain images only text in text frames. I allowed Publisher to access the folder (namely the Document folder) to write to. Edited August 2, 2023 by Baniola Adding image and correcting typos.
Hangman Posted August 2, 2023 Posted August 2, 2023 Thanks for the additional information, the file sounds pretty straightforward. .. Is it a file you are happy to upload so we can take a quick look to see if we can figure out what's causing the issue? If not you can request a private Dropbox link to upload to instead so someone from the moderation or development team can take a look... Which version of Publisher are you using, 2.1.0 (1903) or the version released today 2.1.0 (1931)? Baniola Posted August 2, 2023 Author Posted August 2, 2023 Better private DropBox place, please. I have one which works and two which doesn't. I use Beta 2.2.0 latest build.

Pyanepsion Posted August 3, 2023 Posted August 3, 2023 Hello, @Baniola, Does your file contain any special fonts? Does your file contain linked objects? If you’ve used linked files, have they all been created with version 2, or do they come from version 1? Have you checked in the same place that they are not corrupted and can be reached from the software in which they were created? 6 cœurs, 12 processus • Windows 11 pro, 64 bits • DirectX 12 • Licence universelle Affinity macOS+ Windows + iPadOS • Écran HDR 4 K. → This message was originally written in French. I translated using software. ███ Mais je vous le demande, peut-on imaginer une police sans sérifs ?
Baniola Posted August 3, 2023 Author Posted August 3, 2023 The document doesn't contain special fonts or linked files. I prefer embedded. All documents were created with version 2. I have 3 documents 2 of them stalled in export and one works OK.
Staff Gabe Posted August 3, 2023 Staff Posted August 3, 2023 There you go https://www.dropbox.com/request/yQmv46yXQCkh0G7zdAyX
Staff Gabe Posted August 3, 2023 Staff Posted August 3, 2023 I don't get any errors. What are your export settings? Which 2 of those documents fail to export for you?
Baniola Posted August 3, 2023 Author Posted August 3, 2023 I use the default setting for Print. Export fails for Pandorina... and Pribehy...
Staff Gabe Posted August 3, 2023 Staff Posted August 3, 2023 I don't have your fonts, so it could be that. Can you package your doc and re-upload please?
Baniola Posted August 3, 2023 Author Posted August 3, 2023 I just uploaded problematic document as package.
Staff Gabe Posted August 3, 2023 Staff Posted August 3, 2023 Still fine... Can you try and open the document from the package you just sent me and see if that works for you?
Baniola Posted August 3, 2023 Author Posted August 3, 2023 I've tried. I closed all documents and open from the package. Same behavior.
Staff Gabe Posted August 3, 2023 Staff Posted August 3, 2023 Also try this and attach the log to the same dropbox link please. It might give us a hint of what's going on
Staff Gabe Posted August 3, 2023 Staff Posted August 3, 2023 It doesn't look like a complete log. Did you try to export to catch the error?
Baniola Posted August 3, 2023 Author Posted August 3, 2023 Yes. I did according to the post you recommended. I will try again.
Baniola Posted August 3, 2023 Author Posted August 3, 2023 I've tried exporting two files. Not much more in the log. PDFLib.log
Baniola Posted August 3, 2023 Author Posted August 3, 2023 The following log is from the export of another file which went fine. PDFLib.log

That seems to be complaining about a problem with an icc profile, perhaps the Serif Eurocoated V2 profile. The one that worked used sRGB. Staff Gabe Posted August 3, 2023 Staff Posted August 3, 2023 Try a different ICC profile and see if that's any better
