cady Posted August 2, 2023 Posted August 2, 2023 (edited) I installed latest update just now and settings are now all different. When I copy paste between artboards, or in general, last used tool is activated. For instance, I used type tool to type something. I exit the text frame and copy and paste the text, my cursor is automatically redirected to typing again, even if I press MOVE tool which I use and need for everything. I move for one pixel and let go - it's in type tool and typing in frame!! I do not click inside the frame. It happens when I save as well. Ctrl+s activates last used tool. Please help me to fix this, I'm going crazy and have deadlines. Edited August 2, 2023 by cady
Dan C Posted August 2, 2023 Posted August 2, 2023 Hi Cady, could you please clarify which version of the software you are running? (either help > My account on Windows or Affinity Designer > My Account on MacOS) Lee

It's AD2, my version is 2.2.0.1931 After restarting the computer and software the issue disappeared, but I would still like to know if there was some bug or did I press something to mess it up? Been using all Affinity programs daily for the past 2 years and this was the first time I had that happened. Thank you!
Dan C Posted August 2, 2023 Posted August 2, 2023 Apologies, For a very brief period of time, our beta update pushed to regular users. You are currently running on v2.2 beta through no fault of your own. I would advise reinstalling your previous version from our site or the app store where you purchased your app. Do not save any documents on this version as they will not be openable without the latest beta. cady Posted August 2, 2023 Author Posted August 2, 2023 Dear Lee, Thanks for letting me know! Glad I asked Could you please direct me on how to save for my previous 'older' version of the app so I don't loose any files I've created or updated today?
Dan C Posted August 2, 2023 Posted August 2, 2023 Absolutely, They will only be openable on the beta which you can sign up for here: https://affinity.serif.com/en-gb/affinity-beta-program/ This does mean temporarily having a second application on your system I'm afraid, but it will be clearly marked as beta in the app name and a "b" in the corner of the app logo so you know which you are using at all times. Once released you will be fine to use them on the actual release and be free to delete the beta. Lee
