anto
When you press Control+ALT+click, a scale icon with a + appears, but the scale is zoomed out. 2023-07-28 07-49-35.mp4
debraspicher
I believe this is intentional and it is related to this addition in the OP of the this thread: Quote Additionally holding alt + cmd / ctrl will put you in scrubby zoom mode where you can click-drag to zoom in and out. "Scrubby Zoom": https://affinity.help/designer2/en-US.lproj/index.html# Admittedly, it does feel a bit clunky that we can't zoom in nearly as easily without dragging, simply because we have to hold the modifiers to keep the function active. It's like we're doing something wrong. The + cursor you're seeing is the generic mouse cursor for the Zoom Tool.

But in the picture you showed above, this icon is without the + sign. I think the + sign should be removed.

Return
Yes Ctrl+Alt+click is zooming out. Usually zooming icons are represented by a minus or a plus sign for which zoom you are using in many programs on windows. There's no modifier to zoom in again though. Also the zooming is only on selected textframes and not a global shortkey so can be easily stripped from it to use for another action.
