Saving Column Guides

Is there a way to save column guides in Designer?

As far as I know only within the document; but not for newly created ones. For this purpose, it would be useful to create a separate template.

You can have different guides setup stored in artboards.
And you can add artboards to the assets panel so that's another option.

Or you create the wanted guides as curve or shape objects (-> instances in the Layers panel / e.g. "Rectangle") and use them as guides via the Snapping options. Advantage: easy to move, scale, copy/paste, style, … individually or all together.

@Return, I just tried this and it works. I didn't bother with assets. Instead, I created several artboards in the same file and then copied and pasted them individually into same-size artboards in a different file. It takes less time to create new column guides in your working file. It's a matter of typing in 3 numbers (columns, rows, and gutters). In retrospect, there doesn't seem to be much value in saving column guides after all.
