Publisher v1 - How to transform a mask without transforming the masked image?

Recommended Posts

Hi @Colin9,
Welcome to the Affinity Forums!

If you activate the option "Lock Children" then you can move or scale any parent layer without affecting their nested child layers. The option is unfortunately hidden at the right edge of the Context Toolbar (or maybe off the screen, requiring a click first on the '>>').

If you select 1 parent folder + any other layer then the "Lock Children" option appears more comfortable near the centre of the Context Toolbar.

Fully agree! It is hard to understand that it is not easier accessible, either as 'shortcutable' menu entry or as icon-button in the Layers Panel for instance. Especially because, with more than 500 posts, it's not exactly a rare problem for forum users.

I doubt V1 feature requests will have any impact in the future, so just FYI …:

Yes there should be something in the layerspanel because if there are children they don't always need to be treated the same.
Meaning that there can be more childes but sometimes you only want to move one with the layer.
I think a real layer lock should be present that can lock the layer in place even when its parent is moved.
See simplified example, I only want the yellow ellipse to be moved with the parent.
