Affinity Publisher: selection unresponsive after updating resources

Hello,

we experience continuously problems with Affinity Photo and Publisher. I could finally reproduce a Publisher issue. Does anyone see something like this?

On a small .afpub file with ca. 16MB

  • upon launching the Resource Manager
  • and updating more out-of-date linked resources,
  • after the action above the application won't respond to selection in any form (be it button, or click on any empty part of the drawings)
  • the file must be closed and re-opened to be made functional again
  • this seems only to occur upon updating a multiple selection

System:

  • Affinity Publisher 2, Version 2.1.1
  • Windows 11
  • Task Manager doesn't show anything anomalous
  • tested on two machines, one very strong on RAM and Graphic, one rather week
  • Open CL settings on/off: doesn't influence the issue

Hi _c_,

Are you updating resources from a network drive etc? Please could you also tell me if you are using the MSIEXE or MSIX version of Publisher?

Thanks
C

Hello @Callum, thank you for your answer:

  • we use the .exe version
  • yes, we work on mapped network drives (or sharepoint, but not for Affinity files). I have been wondering if the mapped drives could't be the problem. I have a team complaining of non stop crashes and hanging. I don't seem to see this kind of complaint in the forums.
  • We are on Windows 10 Business, not 11

Best,
