Moving a pixel selection of multiple pixel layers at once not working?

Is it possible to move a pixel selection of multiple pixel layers at once? I didnt figure it out with the help of the forums or trying it out myself. 

Any help is apprecited!

Why not? There is always an Undo last operation, in case needed.

The short answer is, for independent pixel layer selections, as shown in your screenshot YES. - And if wanted, you can also Group those and move the Group instead.

@josbin, it appears unclear to me what you want to move: The pixel selection (the running ants marquee) or the selected Pixel layers hierarchically within the Layers panel. (btw: the 4 layer thumbnails appear empty)

If you want to move the selection marquee no layer needs to be selected but an according Selection Tool needs to be active (not the Move Tool). It shows a different cursor. Like so for instance:

@v_kyr I phrased it a bit weird. What I meant: I tried and couldn't figure out how it works.

I meant the selected pixels within the selection. So i want to move just the pixels within the pixel selection of 4 different layers at once. So as if I would do the exact same transform of the pixel selection for all 4 layers in a row (which works for sure but it is rather tedious..)

Thanks for the quick reply and your effort! But I think you misunderstood me, as i only wanted to move a selection of pixels and nit the whole layer. Thomaso already showed me that its possible, so I have to find the error on my end

Your title said "moving selection of multiple pixel layers at once" and that's what I've shown you, aka the movement of multiple selected pixel layers! - But if you meant instead individual part selections from multiple layers, that's what thomaso already showed you and it is similar here, though instead by using added individual selections (via one of the selection tools) from layer.

According to the screenhot, it should work: Selection marquee + Move Tool + selected pixel layers.

Though your Pixel Layer thumbnails appear empty there seems to be no other pixel layer set to visible in the Layers panel. (so there emptiness might be a redraw delaly of Affinity). But I wonder why I don't see 4 bounding boxes (blue lines) highlighted in your screenshot but just 1 for the selection … I get 1 only with empty pixel layers:

A difference between my V1 and your V2? – Or because I demonstrated in APubs Photo persona?

A "selection of multiple layers" is different from "multiple selection(s) of layers".

To me your "a pixel selection of multiple pixel layers" specifies the title quite clear concerning the selection (partial) – but not concerning the move (selection only / or pixels included?) – imho.

I am using windows 10, Affinity Photo Version 2.1.1. Also tried it in Publisher with the Photo Persona, same result. It only moves the whole layer not just the selection as intended. Maybe a bug in a newer version, as I am pretty sure I had it working before.

Study the last video by @thomaso carefully. Unlike what it shows you are not drawing 2 different 'marching ants' selections or selecting the two objects before using the Move tool to drag those selections to a different location.

P.S.: just curious to improve my English: Is "multiple" the same as "several" in case of various, different selected layers? (I'd think multiple would mean 1 layer selected more than once (which appears rather impossible with layers)

So I downloaded an older V1.10 Version and there it works flawlessly... 

I tried to find a way to revert back to affinity photo V2.0 but didnt find a solution in the forums. So as it stands now I would consider this a bug. Or maybe it is intentional and a design decision... I will try to find out and keep this thread posted.

I think I did, but anyways here is another video where I do it again and try out some more modalities and none work...

Think this is a bug.

Until now this thread was about dragging with the Move Tool, not a Selection Tool.

Apart from that I wonder about the new "auto select" options that appear for the Move Tool. You even seem to use it activated on purpose. What if its deactivated? And moved with Move Tool?
