BPimenta Posted July 25, 2023 Posted July 25, 2023 An exported PSD from an RGB/32 with a "Soft Light" Layer can't be opened by Photoshop. Following error appears: Example file: soft light heart.afphoto Quote
Staff stokerg Posted July 25, 2023 Staff Posted July 25, 2023 Hi @BPimenta This isn't a bug. If you open a 16-bit PSD file exported from Affinity in Photoshop and convert the image from 16 to 32-bit, Photoshop shows a warning that certain blend modes aren't supported in 32-bit and will be converted to Normal. I've attached the full list of available blend modes for 32-bit documents from PS. Quote
BPimenta Posted September 15, 2023 Author Posted September 15, 2023 Hi @stokerg Thank you for explaining! It is a bit confusing, that Photo supports features for exporting in a PSD, which Photoshop doesn't support. What may be helpful is a warning in the Export Dialog, when this Situation occurs (32-bit with unsupported blend mode), explaining that Photoshop might not support the blend modes used in the document. The error message from Photoshop is kind of not helpful and it was a pain to figure out this issue. Other users will probably encounter the same problem. cheers Quote
