The fundamental question is where affinity programs store their user data. Nothing is even found in the installation directory. I don't know how to restore them either because they are nowhere to be found.

Assuming you're talking about V2:

But no one else has mentioned that updates reset the applications, so a better question might be how you're applying the updates, and whether you have any applications installed that perform clean-up and might be deleting the configuration files.

Which OS do you use?

All well and good, but it seems to be a common mistake of Affinity programs to no longer register content that has already been created after an update. I can see the saved old workspaces, but Affinity doesn't show them.

Windows 10 is my OS ==> Affinty is the only one Program that makes this trouble ...

And this path is not available for myself:

  • Affinity Store (EXE) :
    • Photo -
       %appdata%\Affinity\Photo\2.0\Settings\
    • Designer -
       %appdata%\Affinity\Designer\2.0\Settings\
    • Publisher -
       %appdata%\Affinity\Publisher\2.0\Settings\

because there is no exe file

If you didn't install using the EXE/MSI files (which are available), then that's not the path you need to look in. You need to look in the path for the MSIX files.

You can find the MSI/EXE files by viewing the V2 license details in your Affinity Store account.

Or from the universal download page as shown in the FAQ:

Hi @danilo,

Sorry to hear you're having trouble - I can confirm that the Affinity apps should retain all of their settings and program files, both between updates and even when uninstalling and reinstalling the apps.

As Walt mentions above, the paths are separate for both MSIX and EXE versions of the V2 Affinity apps, and I believe that you have the MSIX versions installed from the information provided.

It's possible that a third party application is interfering with the Affinity files/folders and unwantedly removing these periodically, or when updating the applications. Can you please confirm for me, do you have any third party 'cleaning' or anti-virus software on your PC that may be deleting these files?

Many thanks in advance!
