joe_l
Just wondering. Is there any benefit in converting a line into a picture or text frame? IMO these options should be greyed out when a line is selected. Quote ---------- Windows 10 / 11, Complete Suite Retail and Beta
GarryP
I don’t know of any reason why anyone would want to convert a two-node straight line into a Picture Frame or a Text Frame but that’s the simplest case of a curve and most other curves have an ‘area’ which could contain an image or text. Because of this, I would say that it might be useful, up to a point, if those options were disabled only when the curve was a two-node straight line but I can’t really see much benefit from doing so since that two-node straight line could later be modified and the image or text could ‘show through’, which may be what the user wanted, for whatever reason. It might be best just to let the user do it if they want to, even if it does sound like a strange thing to do, because someone might come up with a ‘neat trick’ for using it later on. I wouldn't have thought of that possibility, but it does work. Thanks! walt.farrell
And you're also right that it works with a straight line, @GarryP, though personally I don't see much use for that in my work at this point.
