Set Default Color Picker Settings In Photo

Recommended Posts

Is there any way to set the default color picker color mode within Photo for things like masks & Quick FX? By default, CMYK Sliders is always selected and I would rather it be RGB Hex Sliders. I do a lot of masking in Photo using black and when it uses the CMYK black it doesn't fully mask out the layer beneath because it's not full black. Unless I remember to change this every single time I open Photo, I end up having to redo a lot of my masks when I notice the layer beneath showing through.

In the Color panel, do you have the Lock enabled? If so, try disabling it.

This seems to have worked! I have closed & reopened previous files (which would always reset to CMYK) & created new files which are now RGB selected by default. I chose to lock RGB rather than disabling but thank you!

You're welcome.

But note that if you ever do work on a CMYK file, with that lock enabled you'll still get RGB sliders for it.
