Frustrated! With iPad user interface

I’m new to Affinity and I am sooo frustrated with the lack of details missing in the beginner instruction. I an trying to remove a background to a vector drawing and cannot for the life of me find where the persona option is located and even after numerous googling all that comes up is that it’s on the top left hand side - well mine isn’t

can someone please help me 🙏

Hi @susroc welcome to the forums,

Changing Personas can be done at the top left hand corner of the screen as you've previously mentioned, but dependant on the size of your screen and the tool you have currently selected it may have been pushed off the context toolbar, with your finger if your drag to the right on the context toolbar, the additional options (including the document menu, persona button and edit menu) should all reveal themselves.

If you're still having issues it would be beneficial if you could provide us with a screenshot of your app window. 🙂

@NathanC: I was going to suggest that rather than Googling to find out about Personas, one should check the Affinity Help directly, either in-app or online at https://affinity.help but when I looked there I found a problem.

The Switching Personas entry for Designer 2 on iPad (https://affinity.help/designer2ipad/en-US.lproj/pages/Introduction/switchingPersonas.html) has this: 

Note that in V2 you don't "tap on the Persona that you want". You tap on the single Persona icon to get a dropdown selection of Personas.

The dedicated 'Personas' help article references that switching personas is done by 'select a persona from the popup menu' which is far more accurate description for iPad: https://affinity.help/designer2ipad/English.lproj/pages/Introduction/about_Personas.html

The dedicated 'Switching Personas' help article you've shown should also reference this same instruction, as at the moment that is more applicable to desktop. I'll get this raised with the docs team, thanks. 🙂

That is also unclear, Nathan. It begs the question "what popup menu".

A better description, in my opinion, would say to click the Persona icon in the upper left (and show examples of what they are) and select the new Persona from the popup menu.
