PepGold
Hi, I know that you resize the height of text frame to last line visible by double clicking on the resize handle / control point. That resizes the frame to align with the baseline, which I great, that it was I want most times. But I have a need for the frame to align to descender height instead. Is that possbile. It is possible for Artistic Text but I do not think it's possible, for Frame Text except by adjusting the text Baseline. In Designer you can select the text in the last line, open the Character panel, and adjust the Baseline there. Not to the best of my knowledge and experience. This is because every font (Gill Sans, Arial, Courier, etc., etc.) has different heights for the Ascenders and Descenders. thomaso
Without modifying a text baseline you can use the required descender height as the text frame's bottom inset, for instance: descender & frame height.m4v PepGold 1 Quote macOS 10.14.6 | MacBookPro Retina 15" | Eizo 27" | Affinity V1

It does require Publisher, though, and the screenshot in the first post appears to be from Designer. Like @walt.farrell, I am curious why you would need that. Is it for aligning with or snapping to something else or what? If that happens then it would be probably because a bug has been introduced into the software; otherwise you don’t need to worry about it. Snapping a picture frame to the text frame covers the descenders I'm just as curious as to why the apps choose to display the descenders outside the text frame in the first place? walt.farrell 1 Quote To save time I am currently using an automated AI to reply to some posts on this forum. PepGold
Hi all, I just ended up converting the text to curves. 18 hours ago, walt.farrell said: I'm curious why you need that. Just calculating a layout grid where that had to be aligned from ascender to descender, as supposed to from cap height to baseline as one normally would walt.farrell
