Bebb
I was wondering if all the items I made using Draw Plus will be able to be opened with the Affinity program? Also, Do anyone have any idea about the range price of Affinity? Is it more expensive than Draw Plus?
Staff MEB Posted March 16, 2016 Staff Share Posted March 16, 2016 Hi Bebb, Welcome to Affinity Forums :) If you export your files as PDF's you should be able to open them in Affinity apps without issues. There's no Drawplus native file support. The price will be the same as the Mac versions. peter
HI Bebb and to continue on MEB's comments, Affinity tends to be cheaper than Serif's (Check PC World for example): however there is a trade off. AD runs a lot faster and smoother than DP, but DP has more features. So try both, save your works as DPP/PDF/PNG in DP and open up the latter two in AD/APh and see how things turn out...You'll be pleasantly surprised. I have old DPP and PPP files, that I have on Win7/Bootcamp, these can then be exported as PDFs from Windows to Mac OS to be edited: RESULT! Bebb
Thanks both, It's just that I've had DP for so, so long and love working with it, I'm very concerned that the Affinity will not do what DP has and is doing, and will have to "take a course to work with it, kind of thing". If I work with DP I'll save them save them DDP... like peter wrote for sure from now on, so that I can work/ with the Affinity to compare get used to it! Hope it's as good as DP is!
Staff MEB Posted March 16, 2016 Staff Share Posted March 16, 2016 Affinity apps are geared toward professional use. Designer may not have all the features that DrawPlus offer yet, but it will get there. It's also built on a modern codebase allowing much more possibilities in the future that the old Drawplus codebase would allow. Bebb
This is for Peter, Ninety nine percent of the work I do in DP are all saved as automated. gif, for I do my own type of greeting cards and I send them via E-mail, so, I cannot save my works in DPP/PDF/PNG for my cards would not open. I hope Affinity will have the same features so I can continue to make my Greeting Cards and send them!
