Aff Photo to Premiere Pro Exported images too bright

Recommended Posts

Hi.

When I export images from Adobe Premiere Pro, then edit them in Afffinity Photo, then export them back again to Premiere, the images are always a bit too bright and lose contrast, even though I don't touch anything that has to do with color in Affinity. Even just opening it in Affinity, doing nothing and exporting it does that. I always need to add a Brightness FX in Premiere and lower it to about -25.

I believe it has something to do with color spaces or profiles. Is there a color space I can select in Affinity that matches PPro?

Thanks

Hi @Ireground,

As far as I'm aware, Premiere uses sRGB... could you post a screenshot showing your Colour Preferences (Settings) in Affinity Photo?

Hi @Ireground,

As Hangman has indicated, this is usually due to colour profiles, either:

  • The colour profile for the document in Affinity Photo (found under Document > Convert Format / ICC Profile)
  • Your colour settings in Affinity Photo (Edit > Settings > Colour [Windows] or Affinity Photo 2 > Settings > Colour [macOS])
  • The screen colour profile applied via your OS settings - since Affinity Photo is a "colour managed" application

Can you please confirm your settings for the above, so that we can investigate this further? :)

Thanks for providing those for me! Everything seems as I'd expect within Affinity - can you please select the 'Devices' tab in the Windows Colour Management dialog and provide a screenshot of your settings there? You may need to enable the 'use my settings for this device' options here, to populate the list:

Many thanks once again :)
