luenib Posted July 15, 2023 Posted July 15, 2023 (edited) I'm loading my raw photos, but for some reason AP is loading them applying some effects (apparently) Left image is APv1, Right image is Windows Photos What do I do to make AP load my photos the right way? Thanks. Edited July 15, 2023 by luenib Quote
walt.farrell Posted July 15, 2023 Posted July 15, 2023 Many RAW image viewers automatically apply some enhancements (sharpening, for example) or apply the camera's settings (scene, etc.) that the camera would use in producing JPG images. Affinity Photo does not do that, except for a few items that you can configure. For example, in the Develop Assistant, you can configure the application of a default Tone Curve, or Noise Reduction, or Exposure Bias. Other than that, you are presented with the raw data from the camera sensor, and you need to make adjustments yourself in either the Develop Persona or the Photo Persona to make it look "nice" to your eyes. In particular, from some web searching, it seems that the Photos app in Windows is one app that does apply automatic enhancements. luenib Posted July 15, 2023 Author Posted July 15, 2023 Thanks. I'm saving a copy of the photo from Photos, but when I open the copy from AP, it's the same problem. I'd guess Photos would save the copy with all the enhancements it applied, but it looks like it's not the case. Where do I find the Develop Assistant? Quote

In Photo V1, View > Assistant Manager, then you may need to click the button for Develop Assistant at the bottom of the dialog. 1 hour ago, luenib said: I'm saving a copy of the photo from Photos, but when I open the copy from AP, it's the same problem.
