philipt18 Posted July 13, 2023 Posted July 13, 2023 I'd really like to be able to click on the number in a footnote, and jump to the number in the main text. It's easy when you're in the text to see the number and know where to find the footnote, but sometimes you want to do the reverse, and it's not as easy. It would be great if you could jump from the footnote to it's position in the text, so the cursor would move there, or perhaps when editing a footnote, the original text would be highlighted. Some way to easily find where the footnote is in the original text. Quote

Just right-mouse click on the number in a footnote, select Notes -> Go to Note Reference from the menu that appears and the cursor will move to the end of the footnote number in the text. walt.farrell and philipt18 2 Quote 2017 27” iMac 4.2 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i7 • Radeon Pr 580 8GB • 64GB • Ventura 13.6.4. iPad Pro (10.5-inch) • 256GB • Version 16.4

Not sure how I missed that, I certainly tried that before. It would still be nice if when editing a footnote, the word that was footnoted in the text was highlighted somehow. Quote

A visual cue like that would certainly be very helpful, I agree. 🙂 Quote 2017 27” iMac 4.2 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i7 • Radeon Pr 580 8GB • 64GB • Ventura 13.6.4. iPad Pro (10.5-inch) • 256GB • Version 16.4

The entire word, not just the highlight provided by the footnote reference character? That could be useful.
