I just installed Designer V2 for iPad (newest update). I have an older 12.9 Pro, and I'm up to date on IOS updates.

The Pin for panels doesn't work. It turns off and on, but the panels won't stay open. Toggling "Automatically Hide UI" in the User Interface settings doesn't change anything. I'm continually going back and forth between the layers and symbols panels and they cover each other up.

How can I pin them or float them? It doesn't work in my V1 app either.

TIA for any help!

Hi @ckirste,

Welcome to the Affinity Forums :)

'Pinning' a Studio within Affinity iPad apps means the Studio will remain open whilst you are working on the canvas. You can test this by opening the Layers Studio, unticking the 'Pin' icon and then selecting an object on the canvas - the Layers Studio will automatically hide. If you then reopen this Studio, or open a different Studio (such as the Assets Studio) and enable the 'Pin' option, you will now find this remains visible whilst working on your file.

However this option does not allow for more than 1 right hand Studio to be visible at once. When opening the Assets Studio with the Layers Studio already open, the Layers will close and be replaced with Assets. The same is true vice-versa. This is expected behaviour and cannot be changed at this time, my apologies.

I hope this clears things up!

Thank you for your quick response. I understand now. I assumed the panels would stay open and I could (hopefully!) drag them around so as not to keep clicking back and forth.

Is it possible to drag the Studio icons around in the "tools" bar?  That way I could drag one to the bottom for ease of access.

Unfortunately not, however this would make for a good Feature Suggestion to be considered for a future update :)
