Hue range mask will NOT stay UP(active) when clicked on

When attempting to add hue range mask to layer, it pops up for about 1 second then disappears.  It appears in the layer however when clicked on, it shows for only 1 second too.

What is wrong with my configuration since the youtube videos show it working.

Can you explain what you mean by a “hue range mask” and how you are creating/adding one?

A full-screen video, if you can supply one, would be useful for diagnostic purposes.

This seems to be working fine for me here, please could you provide a screen recording demonstrating this issue as GarryP has requested? Please could you also tell me if you use a dual monitor setup at all?

@GarryP You can add hue range masks by navigating to Layer > New Live Mask Layer in Photo

I do not have a dual monitor system.  I go to MASKS, then click on Hue Range Mask option, it stays up a second then returns to dormant state however it shows in the layer.

Seems to work for me as well in AP v2.1.1. I added a curves adjustment then selected LAYER-New Live Mask Layer-Hue Range...

By that, do you mean that, when you have a layer selected, and go to choose menu “Layer → New Live Mask Layer → Hue Range…”, the Hue Range dialog is displayed for only a second before it disappears (without any user input) even though the mask has been applied to the layer and can be seen as a child layer of the originally-selected layer in the Layers Panel?
