The-Designer Posted July 11, 2023 Posted July 11, 2023 Is there a way of removing/hiding the bounding boxes that have an x shape through them. I copied and pasted the file from Publisher to designer. Thanks See screen shot.
GarryP Posted July 11, 2023 Posted July 11, 2023 The “X” is there to show you that you have a Picture Frame which doesn’t contain an image. If you don’t want to put an image in the Picture Frame then you should probably delete the Picture Frame or, at least, temporarily make it invisible until you want to use it. Why did you copy/paste the contents of the document from Publisher to Designer? Why did you not use “File →Edit in Designer” instead? Or the Designer Persona. Is there a specific reason why you used copy/paste?
The-Designer Posted July 11, 2023 Author Posted July 11, 2023 The original file was an Adobe InDesign file converted to idml. I needed to edit it and send back to work as an editable file. I don't have Adobe but my work does. I saved it as a PDF and changed the file extension to ai so they can hopefully edit it. Ideally I would have wanted to send them a similar version to InDesign but I don't think this is possible. Thanks
GarryP Posted July 11, 2023 Posted July 11, 2023 I still don’t understand why that necessitated using copy/paste but I don’t use/convert Adobe files so maybe it’s needed for some reason I’m unaware of.
thomaso Posted July 11, 2023 Posted July 11, 2023 If you did not create the Picture Frames in Affinity they were created in ID and appear there with an x, too. But they don't show on print or an exported PDF. If you are going to delete them make sure in your Affinity Layers panel that they do not contain any nested child object. If they do, move those out of the Picture Frames before deleting them. • MacBookPro Retina 15" | macOS 10.14.6 | Eizo 27" | Affinity V1 • iPad 10.Gen. | iOS 18.6.2 | Affinity V2.6.3
