Crash after embedding a SVG adding a artboard tool, and removing it

Recommended Posts

I add a SVG by dragging and dropping it into a new document in Publisher(the SVG in question attached, test.svg).

I double-click the embedded SVG to open the embedded version:

I switch from Publisher to Design:

And use the artboard tool on my embedded SVG.

I right-click the artboard in the Layers panel:

And click Cut:

This causes my program to crash.

Some info:

I am using Affinity Designer and Publisher 2.1.1 (latest version available).

The problem happened to me on both existing and new documents.

Disabling hardware acceleration does not fix the issue.

Are you wanting to remove only the test.svg from the newly created Artboard? If yes then you will need to expand the artboard in the layers panel. As it stands you may be removing the only page in the document.

Mac Pro (Late 2013) Mac OS 12.7.6
Affinity Designer 2.5.5 | Affinity Photo 2.5.5 | Affinity Publisher 2.5.5 | Beta versions as they appear.

I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.

Nope I did not actually want to remove it, I had accidentally and noticed it causes the software to crash.

Thanks for your report @Gewoonolaf!

I can confirm that I have been able to replicate this issue within Affinity Publisher 2.1.1, however I have also tested the issue in our latest beta, 2.2.0.1881 and here the crash does not occur - indicating that this has been inadvertently fixed by our developers already, likely in a different embedded document fix.

If you wish to download and try this latest beta for yourself, you can find out how here -

I hope this helps :)

Thanks for the reply, that's good news, I'll give it a go.
