Cannot open a file I was working on V2

I tried loading a publisher file from icloud (which I have done before), it said and it says : "Loading one document". But it does not load then then I read in the affinity chat that cloud may cause a problem, so I copied to desktop (imac, 3.4 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i5, 2017).

I tried to open from desktop and the  message now is  "The file is already open in another application."  But it is not open. I tried opening from icloud before and while it did open, when I tried to close it said, do not close until a file is opened. But that file never opened, so I deleted the publisher software and reinstalled.

Should I delete publisher and reinstall and then open from desktop or what else can I do?

Now I try to close publsiher is says:   At least one file is currently being opened. Please wait for files to load before quitting the application.  

But it never loads.

You probably need to Force Quit APub to recover from this.
