Lisa Lammi Posted July 8, 2023 Posted July 8, 2023 I just bought this product and was only just starting to learn how to use it when I encountered the problem that will be best illustrated in the screenshot I have attached. I cannot remove these ghosted layers no matter what I have tried. They are not limited to just one document but instead are appearing on all new documents I try to create. What they do is block the visibility of the other layers I try to create. I have no idea how to fix this myself and am frustrated as now I have a program I cannot use. I made the switch from Illustrator and I am regretting this decision. Someone suggested I uninstall and reinstall this program. If someone could provide me specific directions on how to do that it would be appreciated. Handling tech is not my strong suit. I have googled, youtubed, and looked at online forums, and can't find the information I am looking for. Surely, I am not the only one who has encountered this. Please help!
walt.farrell Posted July 8, 2023 Posted July 8, 2023 Just a comment for now, @Lisa Lammi. Your screenshot shows you're on iPad, but you posted in Bugs found on macOS. There are separate forum sections for iPad questions and iPad bugs, which you should use to avoid confusion. I'm sure a moderator will be along and move this, so you don't need to worry about that this time. Edit: Also, welcome to the forums, and sorry to hear you're having a problem. -- Walt Designer, Photo, and Publisher V1 and V2 at latest retail and beta releases PC: Desktop: Windows 11 Pro 23H2, 64GB memory, AMD Ryzen 9 5900 12-Core @ 3.00 GHz, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 Laptop 1: Windows 11 Pro 24H2, 32GB memory, Intel Core i7-10750H @ 2.60GHz, Intel UHD Graphics Comet Lake GT2 and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Laptop GPU. walt.farrell Posted July 8, 2023 Posted July 8, 2023 Thinking about this some more, I've personally never seen this, and though I have a vague memory of a similar issue being reported, I can't find it right now. I would suggest several basic "fix" approaches that sometimes work. Please try them in order, testing between each to see if the problem is resolved. If one resolves it, you can stop there. Completely close the application, and restart it again. https://support.apple.com/HT212063 Restart your iPad. https://support.apple.com/HT210631 Reset the application. First, completely close it (see step 1). Then start the application again, and when you get the Splash Screen, quickly use one finger to double-tap on it. You should get a Reset dialog. Leave the options as they are initialized in the dialog, and tap Reset. -- Walt Designer, Photo, and Publisher V1 and V2 at latest retail and beta releases PC: Desktop: Windows 11 Pro 23H2, 64GB memory, AMD Ryzen 9 5900 12-Core @ 3.00 GHz, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 Laptop 1: Windows 11 Pro 24H2, 32GB memory, Intel Core i7-10750H @ 2.60GHz, Intel UHD Graphics Comet Lake GT2 and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Laptop GPU.
