vibhuti
I have an issue with selection. I am choosing quick mask to select an object but it's the area around the object I want to modify (in Photoshop, I used to be able to inverse selection and the pixels outside the selection were then selected) How do I do that? Staff MEB Posted March 14, 2016 Staff Share Posted March 14, 2016 Hi vibhuti, Welcome to Affinity Forums :) You can press ⌘ (cmd) + I to invert the selection (even in Quick Mask mode) Quote A Guide to Learning Affinity Software
javaporter
Hi, I'm having the same problem, but invert selection seems to just deselect the entire selection. I made a screen recording in case it helps. What am I doing wrong? If you don't want to view the recording, essentially I'm just selecting a portion of the image, and then *trying* to inverse the selection so that I can delete the rest. javaporter
Thanks Toltec, that's exactly what I'm trying to do. For whatever reason, when I select inverse, it just deselects everything. Haven't tried on a different computer, maybe it's some weird pref? GameDirection
GameDirection
Quote I encountered a similar issue recently. While I initially anticipated the selection to invert, it seems to only deselect, which is quite frustrating. As a workaround, I had to delete the entire selection and then manually select the alpha of that layer instead. I would greatly appreciate any solutions or suggestions you may have. I am unsure if my understanding of the concept of inversion differs from that in other programs. Thank you in advance for any assistance. I have seem to have fixed the issue by turning it off and back on again. Very odd, still learning the quirks of the software.
