Crowded Layer window

Recommended Posts

Right now, what irritates me the most about Affinity Photo is how quickly the layer window gets crowded when I have many groups and layers. I often struggle to find my way around and get lost, especially when Im trying to switch off parts of the document.

PLEASE give us MORE options to customize the UI!!!!

We need a better way to visualise groups and layers!!! As is, this is not ok!!

The tiny offset between group and layers inside the group is not enough!!

Also, the small rectangle on the right for Color, is not visible enough!!!

Suggestion 02: color entire lines, not just the far right box

1. Why should the GROUT group, marked with a red tag, be colored purple/orange?
2. How should Layers that have a different color than the Tag be colored?

The colours are just an example to visualize what I was talking about. The idea is to make the color difference more prominent, not just that little thin rectangle in the corner.

Obviously that GROUT group would be red, I just coloured everything quickly to make a point

It could also be understood that the color is taken from the parent layer/group, thus indicating its nesting.

Definitely -1 for me, the existing color highlighting is enough for me - I'm not a fan of distracting "coloring books".

For me, it would be more interesting to better highlight the nesting using the recoloring of the vertical lines.

The whole idea is to give us more options. Just like the limited customization tools they already have, just expanded so we can use it if we want to

Let us go crazy with colours and offsets so we can better visualize the layers panel
