How to set "Show Orientation" setting in pen tool and node tool to be disabled by default?

For me this litle red indicator causes distraction and i would like if it stays disabled by default.
I can't find any solution to change this. Is it possible to set it up to be disabled by default?

P.S 
If i remember the "show orientation" checkbox in the pen tool and node tool was unchecked by default in V1 but in v2 is the oposite.
Serif i would love to know what was the reason to change?

The “Show Orientation” setting should be ‘sticky’ while the application is open, across all documents, meaning that you should only need to click it once per session if you want it OFF.

As far as I know there isn’t a setting to permanently switch it OFF.

I have no idea why the default was reversed, but maybe someone from Serif will give a reason.

It's a pity you can't set the defaults for the tools you using.

I agree, up to a point, but if we could set user defaults for all of the settings, on all of the tools, can you imagine what the Settings dialog would look like?
Even if we could, there would always be someone who didn’t want to have the defaults set in that way and wanted something else.

Maybe it was changed by accident and it might switch back to OFF by default at some point.

I agree.
But I think it would be wise to leave this option unchanged. Especially if at my knowledge no one in forum has complained about it being turned off.

Also a good solution would be open the app with no document created set up the tools how you like and remeber it globally so if you lunch again everything is set up how you want. No need to ingerate to settings dialog😉

Every now and again some setting defaults get reversed/changed for some reason, and then they (sometimes) get changed back again later.

One possible reason could be that a developer made a quick change to make it easier to test something and then forgot to change it back. Or it might have nothing to do with that.

I can’t remember hearing lots of people (or anyone) clamouring to have that setting changed to ON by default so, if you want to, you can add a Feedback thread asking for it to be changed back. (Serif generally don’t ‘action’ stuff that is discussed in the Questions section.)

Hi All,

Ive had a look at some of our old internal chats regarding this and can see that this change was intentional but I can't see any reasoning for this. I'll see if I can find out more and then update this thread once I have more info.
