Hello everyone, I've recently had the problem with V1 that RAW files have a purple background on the pictures.

Does somebody has any idea?
Thank you in advance and have a nice evening!

Best regards
Stephan

Welcome to the Serif Affinity forums.

What kind of RAW files, from what kind of camera? Can you share one of them with us, by uploading it here?

Also, are your Develop Assistant settings set to use the Serif RAW engine, or the Apple RAW engine, for processing RAW images?

This is a Canon CR3 raw image shot with a Canon EOS R8.

Thanks. The EOS R8 is not a supported camera, at least if you're using the Serif RAW engine, which may explain what you're seeing. I don't recall if it's supported yet by Apple.

Edit: Sorry, that's the V2 list, but it will be a superset of the V1 list, so V1 won't support it, either. Here's the V1 list: https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/73699-faq-list-of-supported-raw-cameras-110x-for-desktop-lens-correction-list/

Danke. Die EOS R8 ist keine unterstützte Kamera, zumindest wenn Sie die Serif RAW-Engine verwenden, was erklären kann, was Sie sehen. Ich kann mich nicht erinnern, ob es noch von Apple unterstützt wird.

OK, thanks for your help! I'll probably deal with V2 then.

V2 may have the same issue, since neither supports that camera. There is a 30-day trial of V2 if you want to check.

Hi @SP83,

This is a known bug in V1 as Canon EOS R8 wasn't supported then.

However, on the LibRaw page is the following comment…

Question
Do you have any idea when the software will get full [insert camera make/model here] support?

Reply
If our RawDigger announced on our blog https://www.rawdigger.com/news supports the camera/format, it's because LibRaw supports it.

Looking at the RawDigger site shows this, suggesting Canon EOS R8 support was added on February 5th, 2023 and having checked Canon EOS R8 Raw files seem to open without issue in V2 of Affinity Photo...
