This is something that most drawing\design apps tend to ignore and yet build a whole complete ui for ipads. While there are a number of touchscreen windows users who'd use drawing apps that would love to use use the app to without having to flip the keyboard in and out or a sperate keyboard instead be able to use like holding a drawing notebook and pad.

Things that are need to make that work are:

1- be able to rotate canvas using touchscreen just like zooming in and out using two fingers.

2- touch shortcuts that can be customized. Ex: 3 fingers swipe left= undo, right= redo, up= actual size zoom, down= select\deselect all.

3- Have an studio window for touch buttons like shift, alt, ctrl, etc. Or even better buttons that adapt for each tool so not having to hold things like ctrl shift. Also a keyboard tab.

4- Auto hide tabs for studio giving more room work on the touchscreen especially when wanting to use a small computer like a surfact pro go instend of a 15+ 2-in-touchscreen since it's a lot more comfortable using in lap\ hand. This wayone could just click the tab they want to use and that studio function opens up. And which one they don't want to autohide and be always available can be put in the bottom or right left corner\corner.

Ex: for me color/swatches, stroke, and navigation i'd prefer to be always visible in designer. Yet things like symbols, history, brushes, assist, layer I'd rather have it in a tab folder that the whole list pops up. Now that's my preference and I'm sure everyone would have a specfic layout that would suits them best.

5. When change things like stroke, stablizer, text size and other number slider it need to be a lot longer with touchscreen and have notches for either custom number or like 1-10 single digits, 10-50 increments of 5, 50+ increments of 10. Or something along those lines.

6. The new window needs to be sized smaller for or reworked better working portiat on a tochscreen

7. Larger color chooser for touchscreen when using stylus without keyboard to make it easier to choose exact color. rougly 20% larger.

8. Have a touchscreen mode toggle so one can swap if they're using their touchscreen without a keyboard or going back to the keyboard and using the mouse show the better studio layout is being used for current drawing\design mode.

9. Not having to "click"\touch the screen in order to right click via stylue, instead have right click work within range when cursor appears using the stylus and not having to hold right click, just click it once.

Now there are a few smaller changes\additions that could be done to make affinity more touchsreen friendly without haveing to drag a keyboard or wireless keypad with you. And there's sure to more suggestions that touchscreen user would be willing to add on. Also it'll encourage more touchscreen user to get Affinity.

I do have more details of how ideas\ ui concepts that I could work out and help design yet that's hrs of my time I'd not be giving away for free.

Thank you in advanced for concideration! Hope you plan to implant this in order to increase Affinity experience 10 fold.

Are there Windows programs really working as a tablet app on the Surface? I saw some music composition apps, and they struggle a lot there. Is there some limitation due to the operating system itself?

Yeah, plenty. I use Sketchable mostly for drawing, but it is a raster only program designed to mimic a sketchbook, so lacks in features compared to Designer or Photo. I know there is the Corel suite also, which I hear is quite good, but have not tried it.
