I keeps getting every single time I open affinity.

Nothing removes this, I tried restarting my computer, trying all three options and running as admin, even reinstalling does nothing. uninstalling/restarting/ installing, installing exe version

Also all the products take longer to reopen

Welcome to the Serif Affinity forums.

I don't recall seeing that reported before. I don't have any great suggestions, but if you're starting. All three at about the same time, you might try starting them individually, and getting one working before you start the other two.

Also, you might try starting one of them while pressing the Ctrl key. Release the key when you get the Clear User Data dialog (you may need to click on the application icon on the Windows Taskbar before it will show up). Leave the first 3 items ticked, and press Clear.

I think this is the first time I have seen this issue.

If that’s true then you could be seeing a problem which is unique to your particular machine/set-up.

If that’s true then it’s unlikely that Serif will be able to find a fix for it without your assistance.

And if Serif can’t find a fix for this very specific issue then it’s likely that you will be unable to use the V2 software in the future without coming up against the very same issue.

If you want to help Serif to find what the problem is, and get it fixed, then you may need to provide more information about your machine/set-up, and only Serif can know what information they want/need to be able to do that.

(Remember, you can install the V1 software alongside the V2 software without them interfering with each other.)

I sounds to me like there could be something in your account, on a server somewhere maybe, which isn’t being updated properly and is thus causing you to repeatedly get the same message, but that’s just a complete guess. (With this in mind, and it’s a long shot, have you tried to launch the applications while your machine has no active internet connection?)

If you can continue to assist Serif with the problem diagnosis then you could help to get the problem fixed and that might also help other people from having the same problem in the future.

Hi KatherynAbby,

Could you please try uninstalling the software fully and redownloading from the website, preferably using the opposite installer to the one you have previously installed, ie the MSIX in your case.

I already uninstalled the software and re-downloaded from website using opposite installer, no change.

I have two machine a desktop and laptop both of them are having this problem (The both have different setups like desktop is win10 and laptop win11. There is alot more differences to them both.)

Also, running without internet I keep getting the same popup.

thank you, I know I can have v1 and v2. The reason I am choosing that is software list get to long when I right click ( I have other photo editing tools already as well)

The mentioned message is the initial information about the execution of the update, which should then no longer be displayed - i.e. the fact that the message has already been displayed once will not be saved/remembered.
So just a tip - if you make a change in the settings (Preferences), will this change be remembered the next time you start the application?

I am still have the popup though.

Then in some of the Affinity software own prefs setting files (or the Win registry, as far as there's an entry for that) this option showup isn't toggled (aka yes/no or true/false) in a persistent manner accordingly.

Do you where Affinity settings files or where registry Affinity setting is for that popup?

No, I'm actually on MacOS and there setup files are different (more Mac related plist-files) than on Win. Under Win I would look through some XML files etc. and search through the Win Registry after Affinity apps settings.

I am sorry, I cant edit either registry or Affinity settings since I do not know how edit either one of things

Ok I understand, well usually then the Affinity support should be able to tell you, which the needed steps here are to get rid of those permanent showups!
