I have done hundreds of these meme like pics and always used fill layers, but in this specific one it just seems completely impossible. The fill layer does NOTHING and there is no reason why, oh how i love it! In the 7th circle of hell i am sure that photoshop and affinity are dancing in perfect union!

What do you see if you tap the ... icon in the Layers panel to display the Fill Layer's details?
