WolfgangS
Hallo everybody, I am new in this forum, but my impression is, I'm not the only German forum member and perhaps there is also another member coming from Düsseldorf. Although I joined the forum only today, I have a question and I hope, you will be so kind to help me. Yesterday I installed Affinity Photo on my MAC. Unfortunately I had already downloaded the Google Nik Collection, not knowing, that the Nik Collection Plugins would only be downloaded and submitted to the Plugin file, if the Affinity Photo program had already been installed. Now, where I have done it the other way round, what can I do to get the Nik Collection running as Affinity Photo Plugins. I would be very happy if somebody could help me. Best regards Wolfgang
Staff MEB Posted March 10, 2016 Staff Share Posted March 10, 2016 Hi Wolfgang, Welcome to Affinity Forums :) Where do you have the Nik Collection plug-ins installed? If you have them in the Photoshop plug-ins folder for example, you just have to point that folder in Affinity Preferences, Photoshop Plug-ins section in the Plug-in Search Folders area (click the Add button). Then click the Authorise Global button on the bottom and Authorise again in the dialog that will open. Also make sure Allow "unknown" plug-ins to be used is checked. Restart Affinity for those changes take effect. Currently only Analog Efex Pro 2, Color Efex Pro 4, Silver Efex Pro 2 and HDR Efex Pro 2 (this last one for single images only, not for a set of bracketed shots) are working correctly. Photoshop plug-ins support is still under development. WolfgangS
Thank you for your quick response. The problem is, that I have no plugins at all. I have only the Nik Collection as such. When downloading the NC I had neither Photoshop nor Affinity on my Mac. That might be the reason, why no plugins had been downloaded. Wolfgang Sorry, I just saw, that the downloader had sent plugins to the Aperture Plugins Folder. Would these plugins also work with Affinity? Staff MEB Posted March 10, 2016 Staff Share Posted March 10, 2016 You mean you have been using them as standalone apps. Can you please check if you have a folder named Google in you applications folder with a bunch of .plugin files please? If there's no such folder you may have to run the Nik Collection installer again to create it. No, Aperture plug-ins will not work with Affinity. Allan C
Thanks for the info on which Nik plugins work, I download the Nik collection (trial only) today and wondered why I can only get 3 working. Not to worried about HDR. Thanks for update.
