Hi there, I’m having issues exporting a file to pdf using Designer. The document resolution is 834x1130px; when I export it to pdf, the resolution is 200x271.
I tried many different settings and presets (including "Use document resolution") when exporting it, but nothing works. I can’t find anything online. I don’t know what I’m doing wrong.
I’m using version 2.1.0 on a Mac.
Funny enough, I tried it on my iPad Pro M1, and the same file exported to pdf becomes 109x141px. I don’t understand.
I’ve attached a test file.

This problem has been driving me crazy for days.

Hope you guys can help me.

Thanks,

Hi @Debbio and welcome to the forums,

The difference you are seeing is down to different units of measurement, your Affinity document uses pixels at 300 dpi, and the pdf you've exported shows the dimensions in points...

For ease, if you change both your Affinity document and your pdf reader units to mm you will see that both are the same, i.e., 70.6 mm x 95.7 mm, but in terms of the math...

At 300 dpi, 300 px = 72 pt, therefore, 1 px = 0.24 pt so...

834 px x 0.24 = 200.16 pt
1,130 px x 0.24 = 271.20 pt

Hi @Debbio,

The ‘default’ unit of measurement for the pdf format is points which I guess leads to the confusion… 🤔
