Publisher (ver 1) new section without page numbers after section with page numbers

When adding a section the only choices are to continue with page numbers or start a new series. How can a section be added with no page numbers after a section with page numbers?

One option is to create a Master Page with no page numbers, and apply that Master Page to the section pages.

I don't see a method of creating a Master Page without numbers.

To circumvent the issue I unchecked 'Frame Text' on selected pages for the fields holding page numbers.

You simply don't put a page number field on that Master Page. Any document pages will physically have numbers, which you can see in the Pages panel and in the Section Manager, but they won't be visible on the page.

I created a Master Page without any page number field. That resulted in page numbers from the previous Master Page continuing onto the pages managed by the new Master Page.

If they're visible on the new pages, that sounds like your new pages may have two Masters applied. What do you see in the Layers panel, and when you hover over a page in the Pages panel?

Frankly, at this point there have been so many changes since the original post I am uncertain of the situation at that time. Presently things are going swimmingly. If that changes I'll be back.
