awakenedbyowls Posted June 17, 2023 Posted June 17, 2023 Just using Publisher V2 to create a poster - actually moving in between that and Designer (one of the best features of Affinity is the ability to open files in other apps easily) But I still can't see what use Publisher is to me - what can it do that Designer can't ? for my purposes anyway at first glance Someone said a while back there are more Fonts but all I can see is the same selection of Fonts that's on Designer and Photo ? Are there additional Fonts that are specific to Publisher ?
walt.farrell Posted June 17, 2023 Posted June 17, 2023 Unless you've installed some affont files, all three desktop apps use the same set of fonts: the ones installed on your system. Publisher has many other functions that Designer doesn't have, including linked text frames, find/replace, indexes, TOCs, StudioLink, automatic Hyphenation, multi-column text, control over the stroke/fill for text frames and for text on a path, etc. Callum and R C-R 2 -- Walt Designer, Photo, and Publisher V1 and V2 at latest retail and beta releases PC: Desktop: Windows 11 Pro 23H2, 64GB memory, AMD Ryzen 9 5900 12-Core @ 3.00 GHz, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 Laptop 1: Windows 11 Pro 24H2, 32GB memory, Intel Core i7-10750H @ 2.60GHz, Intel UHD Graphics Comet Lake GT2 and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Laptop GPU.
