Why are my dimensions different in the document than in my preset in Affinity Designer 2 for the iPad?

Recommended Posts

Hi there:

I have been using the presets, in pixels, for new documents in Affinity Designer 2 for the iPad. But when I create a rectangle to cover the artboard and I check the pixel dimensions in the transform panel, I see that the dimensions are not the same as the preset, that they are in fact 10 x bigger. Is there something else that I need to set up within the document (some kind of setting, etc.) that would give me the proper pixels that I specified when I created the document?

It think it would help to see a screenshot of the dialog where you create the document. Then another of the Transform panel with the Artboard selected in the Layers panel, immediately after the document is created.

@walt.farrell Sure, here they are:

The first screenshot is the preset screen for "new document", and the second is the transform panel showing the dimensions of the rectangle that I created within that artboard.

Note: this is occurring with all the presets that I have on the iPad version of Affinity 2 that I checked, whether they were the ones included in Affinity or the ones that I made myself. Not sure why.

Drawing Scale set to 1:10 in your document. When you create a new document, in the New Document dialog, disable Drawing Scale and that should resolve the issue.

In an existing document, in the Transform panel, tap on the 1:10 to disable it and that will fix it in files you’ve already created.
