jkolko Posted June 16, 2023 Posted June 16, 2023 I want to create a new style that acts as a header, having a light grey vertical bar next to it; the text, and the subsequent plain text, is hard left aligned, but the grey vertical bar floats outside of it. Thoughts? Quote
Brian_J Posted June 17, 2023 Posted June 17, 2023 You can do that with Text Style Decorations in Affinity Publisher. In the attached .afpub file, take a look at the Block Quote text style. Block Quote.afpub Quote Windows 10 22H2, 32GB RAM | Affinity Designer/Photo/Publisher 2 (MSI/EXE)
jkolko Posted June 17, 2023 Author Posted June 17, 2023 Fantastic. Thank you very much. Brian_J 1 Quote
Brian_J Posted June 17, 2023 Posted June 17, 2023 @jkolko Just an afterthought… If the “block quote” text style will always be applied to only one or two lines of text (i.e., it won’t be applied to multiple, consecutive paragraphs), you can make two changes to the Block Quote text style in the example file I provided so that when typing text, pressing the Enter/Return key will automatically switch to your desired paragraph style after the “block quote“ style. In the Edit Text Style dialog: Style section — change Next style to the text style you want applied to paragraphs that follow “block quotes.” Decorations section — uncheck Combine identical.
