This is just a public service announcement:

If you work on files on Affinity Version 2 on an iPad and save them, you will NOT be able then open them in Affinity Version 1 any more.

That is all.

All the best

Serif explicitly announced that V2 would not be backwards compatible with V1 when version 2 was released more than half a year ago. There are many threads here on the topic of backwards incompatibility.

Hi Tom, there's an FAQ for this. You can't open 2.0 files in 1.x or 2.1 files in 2.0.

Yeah I know, seems like a lot of people, me included, didn't get the memo so that would indicate a failure in communication.

I didn't even know there was a V2 when I downloaded Affinity Photo for my iPad and now I'm sitting here with important work that I can ONLY complete on there.

@walt.farrell explained the workaround you could use in your other topic.

Try export as PDF, and Open (import) in V1.

Too bad you didn't purchase during the introductory period, when you'd have gotten a 40% discount.

There will probably be a 20% discount on the individual applications at some point, if you wait longer.

I think this is a completely standard and unsurprising business practice that you can encounter in everyday life - the discount for one yogurt will be lower (if any) than the discount for the whole package.
