Paulbg
I have an asymmetrical vector shape that I need to create an 'inner' version of. Like the inner and outer edges of a metal casting. The two need to be parallel, how can I 'shrink' the outer to achieve this?
JimmyJack
Well, there is no Offset function yet.... it's in the works. BUT you can give the shape an interior stroke thickness, convert to curves and then Expand Stroke (layer dropdown). If your shape has sharp corners it'll work beautifully. If it has curves you might end up with an excessive number of points after the expand. Paulbg
Paulbg
Inside stroke and outline has worked for this one thanks for pointing me in the right direction. Offset is an important tool glad it's in the works.
R C-R
"If your shape has sharp corners it'll work beautifully. The 6 node shape on the left turns into the one on the right after applying the Expand stroke menu item. JimmyJack
Yeah. IMO it's broken. For it to be useful, it better be the very last step. Otherwise.... a nightmare to work with beyond that point.
