What Application are you using? 
Designer

Are you using the latest release version?

Can you reproduce it?
Yes

Does it happen for a new document? If not can you upload a document that shows the problem?
Yes

hardware acceleration
Same issue with both.

What happened for you (and what you expected to happen)
I would expect it to stay at the same width :(

Can you please confirm the file format of the image that you are dragging into Designer in you screen recording so I can replicate your work flow.

The file used was a PNG but I have also had this happen with an afphoto document, it seems as if it was somehow confusing the nested symbols/symbol being too big 🤔

 

It could also possibly be the Fill layer but I don't usually have issues with using it in this manner ( It is very useful by the way, it allows you to invert anything to be used as a mask as well as preserve the nondestructive workflow )

 

I have also had issues with the nested symbols causing the linked/embedded files to not show in the export ( rasterizing the affected layers helped, but this is a separate issue I think )
