Copying and pasting not working correctly

This is an issue I'm having in V2 and NOT V1. In my attached video, you can see copying and pasting working correctly in version 1, and then not working in version 2 (42 second mark I open V2)

1. This is an issue in both V2 of Photo and Designer (unsure about publisher, but I don't really use that program).  This is NOT present in V1 of Affinity photo. I downloaded it and tried and had no issues copying and pasting.
2. I am running the latest versions of both programs.
3. This happens almost every time I try to copy and paste.
4. It happens for new documents.
5. If you cannot provide a sample document then please give an accurate description of the problem for example it should include most of the following:

•    I'm using the latest version of Windows 11
•    I don't think hardware acceleration is on. I haven't
•    Copying is just not working most of the time
•    I have a video showing opening a new document, in both V1 and V2. Both have the same images open. Select all, copy, and paste to a new document. It works every time in V1 and will not work for certain images in V2, even though they're all jpgs
•   I have a video showing copying and pasting working on V1 and then not working on V2.
•    I do currently have a Huion HS610 tablet, but this should not affect anything (the issue happens regardless of the tablet being plugged in or not)
•   I have had issues since the latest update with copying and pasting. I don't remember this happening when I first got V2.

Hardware Acceleration is on by default. Have you checked?

The Copy/Paste is an OS Clipboard function. You should be able to copy something in one app and paste it into another unrelated app, so long as it is of the same type, ie; a photo editing app, one that works with graphics. For example I copied an image in AP, and was able to paste it in Designer, Corel PSP, and MS Paint. Check to see if you can paste into another app.

In your video, it does appear you're working with Pixel images, in fact it looks like you specifically Rasterized one of them. So that shouldn't be the issue here.

Hardware acceleration - was on, turned it off, same problem

Copying and pasting to outside programs appears to work. I opened up MS Paint and it pasted to a blank document. Oddly, opening up one of the images that refused to copy/paste in Affinity in MS Paint and copying it from there into a blank Affinity doc worked (sorry if I worded that weird, I hope you understand what I mean).

The reason I specifically rasterized them was because when I was searching for answers, that came up I think twice, so I wanted to prove that wasn't the issue, even though, yes, it was a pixel image! Just wanted to make sure I didn't waste anybody's time thinking that could be an issue since I saw it a few times.

If you use Paste Special which formats are listed in the dialog ?

 

I suspect the device independent bitmap option is being applied by default and there is a known bug with that ( which looks scheduled to be fixed in 2.2 )

does the paste work if you use PDF, PNG or Serif Persona Nodes?

Paste special does not work with any of the options except for PNG, so I guess that's a work-around for now.

The issue "Device Independent Bitmap paste is empty if copied from Affinity" (REF: AFP-6191) has been fixed by the developers in internal build "2.2.0.1857".
This fix should soon be available as a customer beta and is planned for inclusion in the next customer release.
Customer beta builds are announced here and you can participate by following these instructions.
