Installation of purchased fonts

Recommended Posts

In 2020 I purchased  some fonts (below) Although they are installed I can't access them from my affinity software. I have kept giving up on them as I had assumed that they would automatically integrate in to the fonts drop down menu. It seems a waste not to use them. Can I do something about this. Please note I am elderly and not sophisticated in the use of the software although I love it. Thanks

Are you sure the fonts are installed? If so, do they show up in other software? (I have Montebello and it shows up in Affinity with no problem!)

Acer XC-895 : Core i5-10400 Hexa-core 2.90 GHz :  32GB RAM : Intel UHD Graphics 630 : Windows 10 Home
Affinity Publisher 2 : Affinity Photo 2 : Affinity Designer 2 : (latest release versions) on desktop and iPad

Montebello works fine for me, too.

How have you tried to install it?

I think you should be able to simply unzip the downloaded file (if you get a .zip file), then double-click on each file and click the Install button.

Thank you for bothering to respond. The fonts show up as individual folders in my computer files, but when I am in Affinity software with an open document and clicking on the artisic text button I can't find anywhere to access them. Apologies if I do not seem to be making any sense in trying to explain my problem.

Can you open the Windows Font Settings – press the Start icon on the Taskbar, then type font, then click on Font Settings – then scroll down to where the named font should be and give us a screenshot of that window?

Then can you go into Publisher, open any Font chooser, scroll down to where that font should be and give us a screenshot of that also?

In my attached examples I’ve shown what I can see for Franklin Gothic.

Where do they show up? A screenshot of File Explorer showing them would be helpful.
