Huckleberry61 Posted June 12, 2023 Posted June 12, 2023 Hello, I have a file with two artboards. For example, one artboard is named "AIS Cut Vector", and the other is named "AIS Raster". I am trying to export each of the two artboards as different types of files. I am selecting the "AIS Cut Vector" artboard using the artboard tool, then choosing File/Export and exporting as a .SVG file. Then I'm selecting the "Raster File" artboard FILE/EXPORT to .PNG. The problem is that in both cases it is ignoring the artboard names and instead assigning both of these exports using the main file name, not the artboard name I assigned it, so I'm having to rename them each time. What am I doing wrong? Quote
walt.farrell Posted June 12, 2023 Posted June 12, 2023 Welcome to the Serif Affinity forums. Possibly using the Export Persona would accomplish want you want. Huckleberry61 Posted June 12, 2023 Author Posted June 12, 2023 Thank you, but export persona seems to make no difference in the export name, plus while I select each and give it my export options (which might be a helpful feature), it doesn't seem to save those presets on the artboard level. I'm not sure what persona is for? I will certainly go read on it some more, but so far it doesn't appear to be helping. Quote
Hangman Posted June 12, 2023 Posted June 12, 2023 Hi @Huckleberry61, Maybe this helps a little... As @walt.farrell says, the Export Persona will allow you to do what you want, exporting each Artboard using a different file format, one SVG, the other PNG. Huckleberry61 Posted June 12, 2023 Author Posted June 12, 2023 I tried that, but when I selected it and said "export", it still defaulted to the file name, not the artboard name, furthermore, I assigned each with the export settings like you show in your picture, I then selected them each and when I went to export it seemed to default settings for the last one I set, it also assigned it the pages file name, not the artboards name. Here are some screen shots. Note that when I tried to export my AIS Raster file defaulted to SVG, so I manually changed it to PNG, selected export, and it still is using the file name, not the artboard name. Quote
Huckleberry61 Posted June 12, 2023 Author Posted June 12, 2023 Do the features I'm talking about work on your end? or is it just me? I do this in Illustrator and Inkscape all the time, so I must be missing something. Quote
Hangman Posted June 12, 2023 Posted June 12, 2023 Hi @Huckleberry61, That's because you are using File > Export, (rather than the Export Persona as shown in the screen recording) which will only allow you to export to one file format at a time and will default to the document name... The screen recording shows the Export Persona where you can select a different file format or even multiple file formats per Artboard and each will export using the Artboard name (or any name you allocate). Huckleberry61 Posted June 12, 2023 Author Posted June 12, 2023 Ok, Thank you Hangman. I didn't realize that you had sent a video. That helped a lot. I was in persona, but I wasn't selecting "slice". I would have NEVER guessed it would be called a "slice". A slice is usually something I've used when slicing up web graphics, not when exporting artboards. It's a bit confusing to me, but it worked so thank you so much. Hangman 1 Quote
