While zooming in on an image using command + the image rotates clockwise, however Affinity doesn't seem to know this has happened. It's no in the history and trying to rotate it back is impossible because it thinks it's not rotated.

Saving the file as .afphoto and reopening it, the image is displayed non-rotated.

It seems that clicking on the command key and accidentally touching the top of my Apple mouse while pointing is causing this.

Hi @HonestJohn,

Try disabling Canvas rotation with Cmd+Scroll wheel in the tools preferences and see if that fixes the problem... You can also use View > Reset Rotation in Affinity Photo to reset the canvas.

But agree, nothing is recorded in the History panel when rotating the canvas using either Cmd+Scroll or Rotate Left and Rotate Right which sounds like a bug.

To my knowledge this has always been the case, back in V1 Panning/rotating the canvas are not recorded as events in the history panel, since these aren't edits to the document and just your visual perspective, so it would perhaps be better put through as a feature request rather than a bug (maybe as a changeable setting?)

In my own opinion I would rather it didn't log any rotation/zoom events in the history panel since these are purely visual changes to how i'm viewing the document, and if I needed to undo/revert some changes made and had to reverse every small rotation/zoom change in my doc's history it would be quite frustrating.

@NathanC

I agree not a bug. Thank you for the feedback.

I could not for the life of me figure out what was going on. I think I have an old habit from my "Photoshop days" (20 years ago) of pressing command and using the pointer to select a color, and when I was doing that it was rotating the canvas without me noticing the crosshair that appeared over the image.

@Hangman

Thank you for that info!
