Be aware that the default behaviour for 'Searching' has changed to be context aware - when viewing an existing thread the search will default to 'This Topic' which may cause some confusion or empty results. You can change the area you're searching before you search from the dropdown under the 'More Search Options > Content Type' setting as previous.

Only when you're in a topic though.
If on  discover mode or the main forumpage it will show "everywhere"
If on a subforum it will say "this forum"

I think Serif wants us to be only creative in finding workarounds to use their tools.

I have an affinity with Jumping through hoops and Finding work-a-roundabouts, I'm getting dizzy from all that spinning before my eyes.

Also, I think that does not apply when browsing the forums on a phone, or sufficiently small tablet. There, the behavior seems unchanged and using Everywhere. (Also, on phones you cannot easily restrict the search context, but that is old behavior.)
