Incorrect Size Calculated at Export

Recommended Posts

Using Affinity Designer v2.1

When exporting with Selection Area or Selection Only options, the Exported image may not be the same size as the in-application image.

This is very easy to reproduce.  Create a line with a Butt Cap.  Try to export only the line.  If you Expand Stroke, the error goes away.  If you use a Square Cap, the error is not apparent.

The exporter appears to be using Square Cap to calculate the bounds of the line regardless of its actual settings.

Hi @Dantourin and welcome to the forums,

This appears to be directly related to the stroke width, the thicker it is, the more 'background' is included in the export, the thinner it is, the less 'background'...
