Mr. Doodlezz Posted May 31, 2023 Posted May 31, 2023 (edited) Hey everyone, I'm kind of missing something. Really stupid question: I have spent the last ten minutes looking for the appropriate submenu in the preferences to assign a shortcut to the Paragraph Panel, similar to how ⌘T works for the Character Panel or ⌘⇧T for the Typography Panel. But when I look for the shortcut for the Character panel, I can't find it either. 😓 Are they predefined and cannot be changed? Can anyone point me in the right direction? Cheers Dennis Edited May 31, 2023 by Mr. Doodlezz Added Publisher version Quote
markw Posted May 31, 2023 Posted May 31, 2023 In Designer the entry to set a shortcut for the Paragraph panel should be found in the ‘Studio’ Shortcuts sub-menu. It’s the same for Publisher. Man, who came up with that location and name when there’s dedicated and much more intuitive »Window« and »Text« sections? 😅 Anyway, thanks again! Dennis Quote

Strangely enough, this is what the Windows section looks like in the latest official Publisher version. Note the very short scrollbar on the right, there aren't many other options, and certainly no Text section to be found. 🤔 Edit: Wait, you work with Windows too, don't you? Maybe it's different there, I haven't tried it yet. Quote

That makes it even easier to find them in the preferences, especially if you first use the auto-animated / auto-highlighted macOS feature to find a menu entry via the Help menu … (here for V1) Quote macOS 10.14.6 | MacBookPro Retina 15" | Eizo 27" | Affinity V1

This topic is about the latest version, V2 (V2.1 to be precise), and as you can clearly see in my screenshot, it has changed locations. Quote
markw Posted May 31, 2023 Posted May 31, 2023 Yes I think some confusion may have crept in here! Thomaso’s screenshots are from Publisher v1 where the Menu entries and Shortcuts entries for the Paragraph panel are found under different headings than where they are now found in the v2 apps. As to Mr. Doodlezz’s double entry at the bottom of his last screenshot, that is odd, I don’t see that here? Dan C Posted May 31, 2023 Posted May 31, 2023 Hi @Mr. Doodlezz & all others here I can confirm there are 2 bugs at play here: Firstly, for 2.1 Windows (OS) the Studio shortcuts are correctly found under the 'Window' section of the Shortcuts Settings, as Psendas screenshot shows - following the menu convention found in the app. For 2.1 macOS, these are incorrectly split between the 'Window' and 'Studio' sections of the Shortcut Settings, which is logged as a UI bug with our development team. Secondly, for macOS Big Sur and onwards, there is a separate bug with duplicate Shortcuts being shown incorrectly in certain lists. For example, the duplicate entries of 'Toggle Full Screen' in the 'Window' section, and duplicate entries of 'Emoji & Symbols' under the 'Edit' section. This is the reason markw is not seeing the duplicates, as I believe they are running Catalina with Affinity V2 - this is also logged as a bug with our UI team. I will be sure to 'bump' both reports with this thread now, I hope this helps! Old Bruce, Pšenda, markw and 1 other 1 3 Quote
