Can't drag affinity photo V2 file into Affinity Designer V2 or vice versa

as the title says I can't drag an affinity file from one program to the other, in fact I can't even drag an affinity file out of it's own program.

 

I am using an Ipad Air gen 5 btw

Are you referring to dragging them from the Live Docs view on the Home Page? 

Or to something else?

Yes I am talking about dragging from the live doc view, not sure if that’s by design or not.

 

EDIT: just tested stage manager and that doesn’t let me move affinity files ether.

Stage Manager is not supported by the Affinity applications at this time.

I have never seen any documentation or tutorials or discussions suggesting that dragging from Live Docs is a function of the applications.

Well this was something that could be done on V1, I even redownloaded the V1 apps to see if it still works on there and it totally does

Interesting. I just tried it in V1 with Stage Manager active and you're right; dragging from the Home Screen of one Affinity app to another does make a copy. 

But in V2 it looks like it doesn't work because the Live Docs view switches into a kind of view customization mode when you drag one of the tiles, and they won't drag outside the app. We'll have to see what Serif says.

But given that it is not documented (unless I missed something), and that Stage Manager is officially not supported yet in the Affinity apps, I think it will probably be treated as a feature request rather than as a bug. 

It's an interesting function, though. Thanks for pointing it out.

I've logged this with our developers to be confirmed if by design.
