Ezbaze Posted May 26, 2023 Posted May 26, 2023 Why not inpaint while keeping the "Image" in it's "Image" state to preserve the original quality? 2023-05-26 22-52-57.mp4 or if there could at least be a way to avoid rasterizing the layers that are inside the "image" layer, like a toggle in the Assistant Quote
Circulus Posted May 26, 2023 Posted May 26, 2023 An image layer is a vector container that keeps all original data. Only when it get's rasterized you can work at pixel level. This is the way it's been designed and will most likely not change. To keep the image layer intact use an empty pixel layer above the image layer and inpaint on that pixel layer with current layer and below selected. Quote I think Serif wants us to be only creative in finding workarounds to use their tools. I have an affinity with Jumping through Hoops and over Humps. Dealing with Speedbumps and finding Work-A-Roundabouts. I'm getting dizzy from all that spinning and jumping.
Ezbaze Posted May 26, 2023 Author Posted May 26, 2023 Yes that makes sense. But i still think that having an option to keep the masked / clipped layers unafacted witin an image during inpainting would be very useful Quote
fde101 Posted May 28, 2023 Posted May 28, 2023 The only way you could do that would be to add a new pixel layer to contain the results of the inpainting process. This would complicate the tool since you would need to have both the source image layer and the destination pixel layer identified to it; if multiple layers may be selected, how does the tool know if it is to react independently on both of them, or split their purpose in this way? If the tool just creates the output layer when the selected source layer is an image layer, would it create new ones for every stroke? Quote
